Officially been WAY too long since my last post, but the Met Gala is definitely a topic to bring me back!
I am a little back and forth about this look. I think it is a gorgeous dress and a beautiful color but I can’t help but feel a little “Toddlers in Tiaras” effect around it. Emma Stone is gorgeous and will always lover her style, but I am still questioning this look. What do you all think??
Absolutely gorgeous. Gossamer Chiffon elegantly draped intersecting with an asymmetrical knot. I love the simplicity and the elegance of this gown. This dress will let a bride shine, not just the dress.
Impeccable.

Has to be the chicest piece of furniture I have ever seen.
DESIGN: CELATO STORAGE BY DE CASTELLI
Consider this the trendiest dresser you will ever see. With their “Celato” line, Italian design company De Castelli offers a unique, eye-pleasing solution to the bland, boring ass dressers of the past. Available in three models, including “maistral” copper, acid-etched iron, or brass, the dressers feature deep birch wood drawers that blend right in with the structure. When design meets style, who doesn’t win?
Such an incredible collection. McQueen would be proud to see how well the line is being carried on. The tailoring is impeccable and the detailing is mind blowing. I love how the silhouettes are very classically and traditionally based while still being very innovative and edgy.

Oh my god, I am in LOVE! This is one of my absolute favorite designers. I would die if I could own this incredible dress. The cut-out batwing sleeves are to die for and the drawstring waist enhances the feminine shape while still being one of the most comfortable dresses to wear. $1,232 retail. love love love love
I just recently returned from a week long study tour to New York City and the Fashion District. For those not aware, I am a fashion merchandising student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. During the week we visited many industry professionals, many of which were alums of our college and department. Before I went on this trip, I felt like I had lost my direction. I thought I knew the career direction I wanted to take but through my education I came to learn that it may not have been a very good fit for me. Since I was feeling lost, with no direction, I was beginning to lose confidence in myself. However, I feel like this trip helped to provide me with a new direction to focus on and I feel my confidence and passion reignited. It’s surprising how much a single week can help to turn your life in the right direction.
Some of the places I visited included the Alexander McQueen exhibit Savage Beauty at the MET, The Museum of Arts and Design, the Van Cleef and Arpel exhibit, Style Sight, Mood, Natori, Nichole Miller, Invista, Apollo Jeans, Jones Apparel, Prada, Longchamp, Shape Magazine, Saks Fifth Avenue, and many other retailers. We also got to go to the Lincoln Center to see the ballet Don Quixote and Phantom of the Opera on Broadway!
The experience of this study tour is not one that I will every be able to replace. The opportunities made available to me through this tour would never have been possible without my college program. I have learned so much about the industry and even myself from this experience and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I have about 13 pages of journals from the week and if anyone is interested in reading any specific experience I would be happy to post them!
If anyone also has any questions about studying fashion merchandising or is curious about my path towards my career please contact me because I would love to help anyone with any questions. It took a long time for me to get to this point and I would love to help anyone on their path as well. I still have a very long way to go but I cannot wait to experience every step along the way.
I want to also say a final Thank You to our professors that orchestrated this entire trip
Dr. Barbara Trout and Mrs. Carol Easley, the work you did to make this trip possible is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for everything you did for us before, during, and after the trip. I will be forever grateful for your work and your guidance. Thank You.
I couldn’t say it better myself.
Kate who? Abbey Lee Kershaw has without-a-doubt been the Queen of the supermodels for a little while now, so just throw photographer Barnaby Roper into the mix and you’ve got one hell of a video editorial. More please, you two. Check out the artistic epicness above
